Look for the good. . .

Look for the good in everything
Look for the people who will set your soul free
It always seems impossible until it's done
Look for the good in everyone

Are you struggling to see the good in everything? You might have spent a bit of time in autopilot mode, going through the motions until you figured out how to turn off those settings in cruise mode. I don't even think you were in cruise mode. You were just in some type of mode that even you didn't realise you were in. Who are the people who will help to set your soul free? If you are surrounded by people who are trying to trap your soul, trying to own your soul, try hard to look for the good. It's hard. But that's because it requires us to search for the good within ourselves too. What can you find?

People done gone crazy, people done gone mad
People done forgot the superpowers we all have
We were born to love, not hate, we can decide our fate
And look for the good in everyone and celebrate all our mistakes
If there's a silver lining (silver lining)
You still have to find it, find it, find it

What makes us go crazy? There are so many distractions that make us go mad. Make us mad at people - even friends that have always been there to lend a helping hand and we end up pushing them away. What superpowers have you forgot to access for yourself? Sometimes you need to look up and search for those silver linings in those clouds that keep raining on you. We need to learn to shift our perspective so that we can learn to laugh at ourselves, celebrate all of the spectacular failures along the way. Failing is not as bad as people would think. Failing is just someone who can't spell falling.

Everyone needs sunshine, everyone needs rain
Everyone is carryin' around some kind of pain
I see who you are, you're just like me
I see you're searching for a purpose, guided by a dream
I see who you are, I'm just like you
I get lost sometimes and I forget what I came here to do
I keep on trying (keep on trying)
When it gets frightening

It might be hard sometimes to figure out when you need sunshine, or when you need rain. Spend more time with yourself to know what your self talk cenres on when it comes to you. What kind of pain are you carrying around? The generational trauma you might be trying to process may take time that you think you don't have. Search for connections with people or let them find their way to you. Keep reminding yourself what you came here to do. Never let anyone else question or doubt the mission you have set yourself.

Look for the good in everything
Look for the people who will set your soul free
It always seems impossible until it's done
Look for the good in everyone

How do you know what is good these days? It feels like you can justify things away these days and come up with enough reasons, enough excuses to not do better, to not try harder. If you are surrounded by people who will not allow you to live with your soul free, then remove yourself from that situation. If you are the culprit who is trying to keep other people's souls under lock and key for your own benefit and gain - watch your back. Karma will eventually find you and find a way to make things right. It always does. Even when we have given up any hope of getting through

Everyone is nature, everyone is God
Everyone is love and light and vibration
Look for the good, look for the good
Everyone gets mad sometimes and maybe they should
Look for the good, look for the good
Yeah look out for all the heroes in your neighbourhood
Look for the good, look for the good
Life sure would be sweeter if everybody would

Are you getting out enough in nature? I watched an interview recently with a guru talking about the state of soil and how by 2035 there would be global civil wars and not enough nutrients in the soil which would cause food shortages and the inability to grow food. That blows my mind. Can you imagine a world where we didn't have soil? How will be able to breathe and live when we can't literally grow what we have done for thousands of years from the ground? The guru went on to explain that you would need to consume eight oranges today to have the same nutritional value of oranges at the turn of the century

Look for the good in everything
Look for the people who will set your soul free
It always seems impossible until it's done
Look for the good in everyone

I hope that you commit yourself to looking for the good. It's hard to trust yourself and know when you are in the right space or not, to know whether you know what is good in someone or not. People will try to control you and tell you what you should do with your life. Take the time to listen to yourself, to your own instinct, to your own intuition Continue to hold hope, even when you feel hopeless. Even when you are faced with people who block you, try to control you, try to manipulate you, stay strong. Remember to always be kind to yourself and look for the good. . .

God provides. . .

There's no more need to fight. . .  God provides, so why do I worry about my life When you come to my rescue a thousand times Every other voice it is a lie God provides It is easy to worry about your life.  It's what humans are built to do. We worry about so many things.  What people think of us.  How we act towards said people.  We worry about things that we cannot control, things we cannot hold.  We spend far too much time worrying about things that we shouldn't be worrying about.  When we think that nothing can come from anything, that's when God provides, above all else.  How many times have you been rescued?  Did you ask to be rescued?  Did you ask to be placed in those situations that required God to step in and save you?  Maybe yes.  Maybe no.  But one thing that I've come to know is that God has never lead me to a place that I couldn't get through, that I couldn't understand why I was lead there, that I di...

Closer. . .

I was cruising down the street with my head in the sky Going nowhere fast trying to stay high oh, oh Windows down my arms are waving Oh Lord I can't feel ma face no no, no no, aye, Sister please won't you sing for me Sing a song to set us free, free Brother please won't you sing for me Sing a song to set us free, free The original version of this song is upbeat. I prefer this acoustic version as it resonates more with me, something about it going deep down in my soul (or it could just be the piano accompaniment). We might think we are heading nowhere fast because we keep comparing ourselves to our peers, our contemporaries and the timeline that we set for ourselves to complete all of our dreams and goals. We forget that life happens and things outside of our control, start to take control - and this is where the real work begins within ourselves - whether we have the right support systems of brothers and sisters to sing us songs of freedom - what can we collectively do toge...

I smile. . .

You look so much better when you. . .  I dedicate this song to recession Depression and unemployment This song's for you When you think about songs that have dedications at the beginning during the introduction, how does it contribute to the song?  I often think about how those dedications speak to my own situation.  We may all be going through some trials at the moment and nobody around us is none the wiser.  I've often spoken about it to friends when we do that usual - how are you?  The expected answer is - I'm good. But really we're not.  Why do we do that to ourselves?  We don't want to burden others with our problems or issues. Sometimes the flip side might be true and you have friends who dump their problems and issues onto you, but don't reciprocate.  I hope people get to know you and what you're about.  They need to see that they might be potentially ruining the friendship or connection by doing that. Today's a new day but th...
