Keep reachin'. . . .

There's a dream in your eyes
Reflecting what's in front of you
It's blinding but it's in you
There's a world on the tip of your tongue
A taste lingering on your lips
A feeling on your fingertips

You know you're on the cusp of something when you can almost taste it.  Nobody else can help you reach your goals, except for you.  There will be a tidal wave of support coming your way, but it is a journey of self-discovery that you must embark on alone, just how it is.  What dream do you have in your eyes?  What do you see reflecting in front of you?  It may be hard for you to keep your eyes on the prize but if you don't tell people what you are going through and what you are trying to achieve, then they won't know what they need to do in order for you to push through. The enormity of what you have to deliver may continue to be a challenge because there are distractions that pop up and threaten to take you away from the priorities that you have built upon and worked on for so long.

Ooh, look, ain't nobody tell you what you cannot do
Ride the world and watch the emotions flow right through you
Make a big plane like a rocket and watch it soar across the moon

People will always have comments about your ability and capability to do things.  They will often come up with problems and more critique that doesn't lead to anywhere concrete or provide practical strategies that can help you try to solve your own situations.  That could be because it's always easier to offer advice than take your own, so until you come up against a wall that you keep banging your head against, you will never really be able to fulfil your true potential.  We allow ourselves to believe the negative narrative that is not of our own making.  Despite all of the challenges and obstacles, you have to stay focused on what you can do, what you want to be able to do, and why you're doing it all in the first place.  Are you riding the world?  Are you watching the emotions that come through you? Don't interrupt the flow that comes through you.  There are things that you can do, people you can be around who help to elevate you to the next level.  Stay connected to those people.

And keep reachin'
Keep reachin'
Just keep on reachin'
(Keep on reachin')
All you've got to do is keep on reachin'

There is no time to be complacent.  There is too much at stake for you to give up now so don't restrict what you can do because other people think you can't achieve your goals.  It's always easy for people to try and diminish your goals when they don't have any goals of their own.  I remember a friend saying at one point - everybody wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die.  I remember at the time thinking that was really strange, but it says a lot about what people are prepared to do when they put their mind to something.  Should we be focused on reaching what we set our minds to, no matter how big or small so that we are able to live our best lives?  It may take some time for you to refine your practice and help you to come to a point where you are your most authentic self.  Sometimes being who you truly are isn't something that other people might appreciate if so, that's their loss.

Like a star in the sky
It has always been right there for you
That's why you know what to do
You heard the call and it set you free
There's nothing that can you stop from
Becoming what you're meant to be

I hope that whatever you are doing in your world that you remain focused and disciplined on what you want to be able to achieve.  Getting something that is worth anything - is never easy.  We learn more about our character-building traits as we move through situations that help to build said character.  Pay close attention to the rise of your own star.  Take note of who else is out there in the universe that wants to be part of your constellation.  You might be in the phase of your life where you know exactly what you should be doing and how to do it, but you are on a lonely journey.  You might have stalled your own progress, avoiding doing what needed to get done and now you are at the final hurdle.  Hear everything around you and learn what it takes to set you free.  I don't know about you but this song is on constant repeat, because as I write this, and you're reading it - I hope the same things can be true for you: there's nothing that can stop you from becoming what you're meant to be. . .

To be loved by you. . .

To be loved by you is like a breeze Like the summer rain falling through the trees Like the waves that's crashing on the seas, it's easy To be loved by you is like a song Playing in your head you can dance along Like running away with the dawn, it's easy Like flowers bloom, Like my love for you It's been a long time between blog posts. So much has happened since I last reflected about life around me through music. If you have read my blog posts before, then you would know that you are meant to play the YouTube clip (see below) while you read.  I stumbled across this new song that was released today. It's Anzac Day in Aotearoa New Zealand so it's also an opportune time to reflect on the service of our countrymen for peace in previous wars. There is something oddly familiar and comforting about this melody, this song. The whole vibe drew me in and I've always been a huge Emily King fan. Are you currently with someone who helps you feel this way? What is it lik...

Masterpiece (Mona Lisa). . .

My eyes ain't used to these rays I'm feeling exposed but I hide no more I can't hide As the sun shines on all of my glory My flaws don't look so bad at all What was I so afraid of? No matter how hard you try to hide, or try to be inconspicuous, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Trying to be lowkey when you are on high profile horizons is ridiculous. When your skills, gifts and talents thrust you into the spotlight, you know that you have a responsibility to do your best at all times, because it is no longer about you - it is about who you represent. You might be afraid that your failures and trauma, including your human flaws will all be on display for the world to see - but who has not lived an imperfect life? Why are we afraid of being exposed? Society teaches us to conform and be uniform. Sometimes all we need to do is insist on being comfortable with all our decisions, no matter where they lead us or where we were placed - because our flaws aren't as...
