O Lord, please hear my prayer: In the morning when I rise
It's Your servant bound for glory, O dear Lord please hear my prayer
What are you prepared to do as you rise each morning? Fill your head with the intentions that you plan for each day. Visualise the different activities that you will go through as you continue to serve. It is a difficult life to lead, one of service, ultimately putting others before yourself. This is what we are taught to do from such an early age within Samoan culture and other indigenous cultures that I have had the pleasure to meet in my short life so far. Do you doubt that your prayer will be heard? In these uncertain times with the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, we must learn to rise together.
O Lord, please hear my prayer, Keep me safe within Your arms
It's Your servant bound for glory, O dear Lord please hear my prayer
I never thought I would experience anything like this pandemic in my lifetime. We would pore over history books in Social Studies classes as high school students. We would learn about natural disasters, world wars and other tragic circumstances that defined the tapestries of developing countries, but also how colonial powers managed to maintain their control over how the systems and structures that continue to benefit or privilege those who were already in advantageous positions. I pray that the Lord keeps You safe within His arms during such an unprecedented time in our planet's history.
When my work on earth is done, And you come to take me home
Just to know I'm bound for glory, And to hear you say "Well done!"
The ultimate compliment for any God-fearing Christian or follower of He who sent His Son to deliver us is that He will not only welcome you with open arms; He will be proud of the suffering you have had in His name. It is only through traumatic experiences and how we rise above them, that we learn lessons that can't be taught in a classroom. How many times have you envisioned being able to leave this earthly realm and join the loved ones who have gone before you? We need to exercise patience and be secure in the knowledge that when it is our time to go, when we are called home, that we will have served Him faithfully, even in our darkest hours of need.
Done with sin and sorrow, Have mercy, mercy
Ohhh
Amen
Amen, Yes Amen, Amen.
I hope that you show kindness to those in need. It is so easy to be able to be single-minded and solely focused on the loved ones in your care. But we forget that we are all responsible for each other. Even the strangers that we meet in public on a daily basis. They all have loved ones of their own who rely on them to be strong in certain situations. I think often when I have been on the scene of various accidents, that I have tried as much as possible to be useful, to be resourceful and to help. Just help people. Show mercy to your fellow countrymen. Think of the elderly that you come across as your own grandparents. Show people that you care and that you love. Do what it takes to be better. Oh Lord, please hear my prayer. . .
