Wavy. . .

I feel the colours are going somewhere
The green and red it all leads me up there
And I can feel that I'm taking flight
Never something I want to fight
I let it go and it leads me to you
I see the movement on your tattoo
And I can feel that we're taking flight
Never something I want to fight

One of my favourite pastimes has to be dancing. There's just something about dancing like nobody is watching - when you know full well, that people are watching, but you choose to ignore them anyway. The best nights I've had, have been when I have been able to fully abandon myself to music, surrender to every movement that the music propels you to make. Granted I remember too that there were a lot of people not choosing to dance with the same abandon as me, but I never let that bother me. The trick is to go dancing with someone who loves dancing and being goofy like you. But where does the dancing lead you when someone approaches you?

Do you know somewhere maybe we can go?
You said you know this place
You've been there before
But with someone else
Now you're by yourself
Maybe I can float where you can glow
We can forget the past, maybe we can start
All over again, all over

That all important time of the evening - when the questions turn to where else you can go to after the dancing starts to end? Where to from here? When should the night end with that person? The thing with meeting a total stranger, is that you might not have had enough time to get to know someone to trust them to move to a new venue. The thing about meeting new people is the proposed adventure that you could go on, because you never know how things will happen. Chance meeting turn into attachments that you never saw coming. Who wouldn't a chance to start all over again? What would you do over?

Wavy when you see me
I wanna see you dancing for some time
Tell me you're not leaving
I wanna see you dancing in this light
We could move side to side, left and right
Get down
Wavy when you see me
But wanna keep on dancing for some time

I love the easy groove of this song, provided by the rhythm guitar licks and slick drumming, accented by vocal murmurs that give off a chilled ambience. This could easily be a head nodding track while on a drive, or a quiet jam with your earphones. getting lost in your own thoughts and images conjured by the lyrics. How many times have you allowed yourself to dance in the light? We should never get to a point where we don't want to dance anymore. Make time to get out and move. Go and find the light to dance in so that your inner light becomes part of the experience too.

This trip has taken us further in time
Don't wanna see the end of this night
If you want I can stay with you
Spin around on an endless move

There are not very many opportunities to find kindred spirits and a chance to really think about whether you want the night to end. That's normally what happens when you have fun I guess. Being able to have a good time without any residual drama or underlying subtext is always something a woman strives for when she goes out. She doesn't want to invite trouble, nor cause it. But when she is up against the wall. then she will have some choices to make, and whether spending more time will be something to look forward to in the future.

Do you know somewhere maybe we can go?
You said you know this place
You've been there before
But with someone else
Now you're by yourself
Maybe I can float where you can glow
We can forget the past, maybe we can start
All over again, all over

When new relationships start out, it will be all about creating memories and sharing spaces that you know with someone who wants to get to know you. When he is prepared to float while you glow says a lot about him being happy to be in the background while you shine. Weak men are threatened by strong women, so they will try to find ways to bring her down through gaslighting or other behaviours that reveal their weaknesses. For the most part during this honeymoon phase of meeting someone new, there is no hint of any signs of trouble. The attention focuses on the litany of questions that bombard you with expectant answers.

Wavy when you see me
I wanna see you dancing for some time
Tell me you're not leaving
I wanna see you dancing in this light
We could move side to side, left and right
Get down
Wavy when you see me
But wanna keep on dancing for some time
So wavy
Wavy

i hope that you find opportunities to dance when you can. We should be dancing until we can no longer stand and move with total freedom. Create your own opportunities to dance, learn your traditional indigenous dances. learn other people's cultural dances, have a greater understanding and appreciation of people from all walks of life. I often think we worry too much about other people's opinions and we forget about just the pure enjoyment that we should have in this short life. Nothing is ever promised, people always break promises and people will disappoint. The best thing to do is crank up the music and just be wavy. . .

To be loved by you. . .

To be loved by you is like a breeze Like the summer rain falling through the trees Like the waves that's crashing on the seas, it's easy To be loved by you is like a song Playing in your head you can dance along Like running away with the dawn, it's easy Like flowers bloom, Like my love for you It's been a long time between blog posts. So much has happened since I last reflected about life around me through music. If you have read my blog posts before, then you would know that you are meant to play the YouTube clip (see below) while you read.  I stumbled across this new song that was released today. It's Anzac Day in Aotearoa New Zealand so it's also an opportune time to reflect on the service of our countrymen for peace in previous wars. There is something oddly familiar and comforting about this melody, this song. The whole vibe drew me in and I've always been a huge Emily King fan. Are you currently with someone who helps you feel this way? What is it lik...

Masterpiece (Mona Lisa). . .

My eyes ain't used to these rays I'm feeling exposed but I hide no more I can't hide As the sun shines on all of my glory My flaws don't look so bad at all What was I so afraid of? No matter how hard you try to hide, or try to be inconspicuous, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Trying to be lowkey when you are on high profile horizons is ridiculous. When your skills, gifts and talents thrust you into the spotlight, you know that you have a responsibility to do your best at all times, because it is no longer about you - it is about who you represent. You might be afraid that your failures and trauma, including your human flaws will all be on display for the world to see - but who has not lived an imperfect life? Why are we afraid of being exposed? Society teaches us to conform and be uniform. Sometimes all we need to do is insist on being comfortable with all our decisions, no matter where they lead us or where we were placed - because our flaws aren't as...
