Hold us together (Hope Mix). . .

I will trust in You
and know that You are with me
Forever I'll confide in You, '
cause You're the only answer that matters

There might be very few people that you can actually trust as much as you trust in a higher power. How can you rely on someone to be there fully for you when you are in your hour of need? That's the thing with trust and being able to confide in someone - having that peace of mind that you will be protected and nurtured when the situation requires. We will often need to block out the noise that threatens to consume us, overwhelm us, try to confuse us. When you can block out the noise and focus very carefully on the stillness that you need, answers will be revealed to you that you can begin to trust and know that it comes individually wrapped for you.

Even in the darkness You will be my light
Even when I'm hopeless You will be my guide
I will not be shaken, I will not be moved
Even in the chaos, I know that You're good

To be in darkness can be a dangerous place. To be without hope is a dangerous state. If you are continually subjected to experiences and situations that continue to thrust you in harm's way, it may not be that you are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Instead, these are opportunities (hard to see that when you are in the thick of it) but yes, they are opportunities for growth in places of darkness, in places of hopelessness because that's when you grow the most if you allow yourself. Never allow yourself to be shaken so much that you forget who you are. Never forget the purpose you were born to fulfil. Never forget that you are not alone. even when you are on your own.

You're the keeper, protector
It is You that holds us together
When everything else fails us
It is You that holds us together

I have always felt protected when I needed to feel it the most. The times when I have felt most vulnerable has been because I needed to hurt, I needed to bleed in order to test my own ability to heal. We cannot always only hope for good things. Bad things happen to us because they are sent to us to learn. Bad situations are presented to us to allow us to test our mettle, our character and how we will rise above the challenges and threats that want to bury us, speak death into us - even when it is our own selves that self sabotages from time to time. Recognise your own pitfalls, your own shortcomings, your own foibles and weaknesses that prevent you from moving forward, moving ahead, just move.

I will trust in You
Your thoughts and plans of they are good
And I will wait on You,
I know that You will see me through

I hope that even though your faith is continually tested in all of the situations in your life, just know that you will be able to get through it all. It may never seem like it at the time, because you are so embroiled in what you are in, you cannot see out of the situation, you cannot see any respite from your trauma. Just know that these troubled times will not last for you. There are greater plans afoot where your name is spoken in rooms where you have yet to set foot. There are greater destinations in store for you, even when you can't see yourself rising out of your own bed. Remember there are those who do love you, respect you and want the best for you. Trust in those who want what is good for you. These are the gems that God sends to not only decorate our lives, but teach us about the generosity of the human spirit and what is precious in life to help hold us together. . .

To be loved by you. . .

To be loved by you is like a breeze Like the summer rain falling through the trees Like the waves that's crashing on the seas, it's easy To be loved by you is like a song Playing in your head you can dance along Like running away with the dawn, it's easy Like flowers bloom, Like my love for you It's been a long time between blog posts. So much has happened since I last reflected about life around me through music. If you have read my blog posts before, then you would know that you are meant to play the YouTube clip (see below) while you read.  I stumbled across this new song that was released today. It's Anzac Day in Aotearoa New Zealand so it's also an opportune time to reflect on the service of our countrymen for peace in previous wars. There is something oddly familiar and comforting about this melody, this song. The whole vibe drew me in and I've always been a huge Emily King fan. Are you currently with someone who helps you feel this way? What is it lik...

Masterpiece (Mona Lisa). . .

My eyes ain't used to these rays I'm feeling exposed but I hide no more I can't hide As the sun shines on all of my glory My flaws don't look so bad at all What was I so afraid of? No matter how hard you try to hide, or try to be inconspicuous, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Trying to be lowkey when you are on high profile horizons is ridiculous. When your skills, gifts and talents thrust you into the spotlight, you know that you have a responsibility to do your best at all times, because it is no longer about you - it is about who you represent. You might be afraid that your failures and trauma, including your human flaws will all be on display for the world to see - but who has not lived an imperfect life? Why are we afraid of being exposed? Society teaches us to conform and be uniform. Sometimes all we need to do is insist on being comfortable with all our decisions, no matter where they lead us or where we were placed - because our flaws aren't as...
