God is here. . .

There is a sweet anointing in the sanctuary
There is a stillness in the atmosphere
Oh, come and lay down the burdens that you have carried
For in the sanctuary God is here

What burdens are you carrying?  They might be private burdens that nobody knows about.  They might be public burdens that everybody knows about.  The thing about burdens is that we may try to carry them until we can no longer carry them, or we wait for somebody else to come and take them off us.  We might not be able to offload our burdens to people.  They might not be equipped to try and help you, no matter how much they try to offer a listening ear, an opinionated mouth or a questioning nose.  We need to find places of solace, comfort and rest.  If you know that you are in a situation where you do not have peace, go and find the places and people who will be able to do that for you.  I have only ever felt the greatest stillness in the presence of God.  He shows me signs when I least expect and I know it is all Him.  I have yet to find earthly places in the limited places that I have traversed that hold a sanctuary that is as complete as when I am in His presence.

He is here, He is here
To break the yoke and lift the heavy burden
He is here, He is here
To heal the hopeless heart and bless the broken

Who can you trust?  Sometimes you forget that everyone who tries to know you are not the right people to know.  They may hurt you, use you and try to take all that you offer to further themselves, to enhance themselves and never take a second thought about you, let alone a second glance.  Who placed the yoke on you?  How long have you been carrying this yoke?  When we enable others around us to continue to leech off us, sapping and draining away the energy that we should be investing in ourselves and our dreams, why can't we see that?  It's time to lift that heavy burden off yourself, especially if that heavy burden is not yours to carry.  Lately, you might have come to realise that you have a hopeless heart.  Your heart has lost hope in ever feeling the love that you have poured out to those who needed love from you.  You have been broken and don't know how to put yourself back together.  It's time for healing.  Do you want to be healed?

Speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord
Speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord
Speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord, speak Lord
Speak Lord. speak Lord

Have we placed our trust in the Lord to speak to us?  He might be speaking to you and you aren't paying attention.  You're probably wondering, how am I supposed to know if God is here?  How do I know if the Lord is speaking to me?  There are too many signs that you cannot ignore. There is too much confirmation for you to see that when He knocks on your heart, that you shouldn't forget, that you shouldn't ignore.  It is critically important to be still. To know that in the silence and in the prayers that you say, He will hear you and He will speak to you.  Can you feel the anointing in the sanctuary?  Be accustomed to the sound of His voice.  Be aware of the countless times He has spoken and you weren't ready to listen.  Be real with yourself and know that you are a beautiful person who has had lots of pain and trauma, more than anybody could carry.

Oh, come and lay down the burdens you have carried
For in the sanctuary God is here

I have only come to know this song in the past couple of weeks and it is definitely clear to me that I hear the Lord speak best through music.  Be moved by the power of releasing yourself and offering your full surrender.  We hold on too tightly to bad experiences and traumatic events that continue to haunt us.  To all of my friends with broken hearts at the moment, it is time to let go and focus on your own goals, your own pathway.  You need to remember that when you start looking after yourself first, people are always attracted to others who know how to master self-care, who know how to live their authentic and genuine selves.  I have been grateful in recent weeks to have made connections with people who know how to act as mirrors of their own souls, to bear witness to the shared pain and depths of despair that we can pull each other out of when we need to.  We may never really know whether we are coming or going, moving forward or sliding back, just know and believe that where you find yourself, that wherever you are, God is here. . .

To be loved by you. . .

To be loved by you is like a breeze Like the summer rain falling through the trees Like the waves that's crashing on the seas, it's easy To be loved by you is like a song Playing in your head you can dance along Like running away with the dawn, it's easy Like flowers bloom, Like my love for you It's been a long time between blog posts. So much has happened since I last reflected about life around me through music. If you have read my blog posts before, then you would know that you are meant to play the YouTube clip (see below) while you read.  I stumbled across this new song that was released today. It's Anzac Day in Aotearoa New Zealand so it's also an opportune time to reflect on the service of our countrymen for peace in previous wars. There is something oddly familiar and comforting about this melody, this song. The whole vibe drew me in and I've always been a huge Emily King fan. Are you currently with someone who helps you feel this way? What is it lik...

Masterpiece (Mona Lisa). . .

My eyes ain't used to these rays I'm feeling exposed but I hide no more I can't hide As the sun shines on all of my glory My flaws don't look so bad at all What was I so afraid of? No matter how hard you try to hide, or try to be inconspicuous, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Trying to be lowkey when you are on high profile horizons is ridiculous. When your skills, gifts and talents thrust you into the spotlight, you know that you have a responsibility to do your best at all times, because it is no longer about you - it is about who you represent. You might be afraid that your failures and trauma, including your human flaws will all be on display for the world to see - but who has not lived an imperfect life? Why are we afraid of being exposed? Society teaches us to conform and be uniform. Sometimes all we need to do is insist on being comfortable with all our decisions, no matter where they lead us or where we were placed - because our flaws aren't as...
