Bitter end. . .

I've been up where only stars have been
I've seen places no light can get in
If I had to do it all again
I know that I wouldn't change a thing
Ain't no better life than a life that's lived, mm-hm

Through all of the challenges, obstacles, and trauma that I've endured in life - I would not change a single thing that happened.  I'm not saying I'm a sucker for punishment, but I needed to go through the necessary pain in order to learn how to appreciate the good times through the bad.  Have you been at the highest heights and thought about what you need to do to stay there?  Granted some of the things that you face, are not of your own design, but once you recognise that you are in that funky state - you have to figure out how you will navigate your way through the system.  You know, figuring out ways to be at your best.  Knowing for sure how to go about things that speak to your intent.  Would you prefer to live a perfect life with no errors or know that a better life is one with warts and all?  Sometimes it isn't until the moment has completely passed - do we realise what the lesson was meant to be.

And when the dream is over
Will anyone care?
Don't know how I'll be remembered
I just hope that I am
Done a little good, done a little bad
I'll do it my way till the bitter end
Can we just dance forever?

Does anyone care about your dreams?  If you have people who are your supporters and want to make sure that you are held accountable to the grind that you signed up for - but have since wavered because you're procrastinating and not doing what you're supposed to - that's completely your own fault and there is nobody else to blame.  Motivation, particularly self-motivation is pretty hard to master.  How do you even muster that up when you're still in holiday mode?!  The thing about trying to be remembered - you can't even control how you will be remembered.  All you can do is just treat people well, do the best you can by them and they can be the testimony for you.  I think the older you get, you start to not worry so much about how you are remembered, but become more concerned about making sure that you can make as much of an impact in the world.

Everybody's wonderin' how they got here
Been down every road but still, it's not clear
If we had to walk them all again
Tell me would you wanna change a thing
Nothing ever goes the way you plan, no no

The less you want to be in control, but embrace the uncertainty - you are far better off.  I've learned over the years to gravitate towards people who have figured out how to master the best of themselves.  If you are constantly being thrown in the pathways of people who are clueless and need help, your presence in their world requires you to help them then get back on your own path.  You shouldn't walk down each road the same way.  Each road is different.  Sometimes the surefootedness that you possess, isn't what is required on another road - but being cautious and being aware of hazards or other potential hazards is needed.  In a world where you want to know things for certain - nothing is guaranteed.  Nothing is certain.  And you have to be ok with that.

And when the dream is over
Will anyone care?
Don't know how I'll be remembered
I just hope that I am
Done a little good, done a little bad
I'll do it my way till the bitter end
Can we just dance forever?

I hope that you will know to keep dreaming more dreams when your current dream is over.  There are endless possibilities that you can explore if you know what to search for.  What do you want to be able to do?  Sometimes we can be too conservative because we worry about rejection or failure - but seriously, life is so short that you blink and you miss living it.  When people try to make you dwell on your pain and make sure that you carry your guilt with you - remember that everybody does a little good, and a little bad.  We don't have time to hang around self-righteous people.  And if you find yourself turning into one - find a way to not do that.  Sometimes I think we're just too serious and we've forgotten how to just let go and be in the moment.  Just turn on your favourite playlist, lose yourself in the music and think can we just dance forever?. . . .

To be loved by you. . .

To be loved by you is like a breeze Like the summer rain falling through the trees Like the waves that's crashing on the seas, it's easy To be loved by you is like a song Playing in your head you can dance along Like running away with the dawn, it's easy Like flowers bloom, Like my love for you It's been a long time between blog posts. So much has happened since I last reflected about life around me through music. If you have read my blog posts before, then you would know that you are meant to play the YouTube clip (see below) while you read.  I stumbled across this new song that was released today. It's Anzac Day in Aotearoa New Zealand so it's also an opportune time to reflect on the service of our countrymen for peace in previous wars. There is something oddly familiar and comforting about this melody, this song. The whole vibe drew me in and I've always been a huge Emily King fan. Are you currently with someone who helps you feel this way? What is it lik...

Masterpiece (Mona Lisa). . .

My eyes ain't used to these rays I'm feeling exposed but I hide no more I can't hide As the sun shines on all of my glory My flaws don't look so bad at all What was I so afraid of? No matter how hard you try to hide, or try to be inconspicuous, it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Trying to be lowkey when you are on high profile horizons is ridiculous. When your skills, gifts and talents thrust you into the spotlight, you know that you have a responsibility to do your best at all times, because it is no longer about you - it is about who you represent. You might be afraid that your failures and trauma, including your human flaws will all be on display for the world to see - but who has not lived an imperfect life? Why are we afraid of being exposed? Society teaches us to conform and be uniform. Sometimes all we need to do is insist on being comfortable with all our decisions, no matter where they lead us or where we were placed - because our flaws aren't as...
