In my time I've travelled some roads
A rolling stone
Nowhere feels like home
And I've seen people come, then they go
Life is just a story of some highs and some lows
You've probably laid your hat in so many places because you could never truly be at home. The home that you had tried to build was taken away from you and you didn't know how to deal with that when things started to change faster than you were used to. So you learned to adapt to change really quick as it was the only constant thing in your life. You learned to not feel so deeply about your situation so you found other means to keep you sane and to hold onto a semblance of sanity when you were surrounded by chaos. How many lives have you touched and left in the blink of an eye?
Tell me do you believe in miracles?
I'm standing here before your eyes
The thing about miracles is that you don't really believe in them unless they have been performed in your life when you need to believe the most when you really need your faith to show up and show out for you - as one true test of your faith. The sweetest miracles have been those that have turned up when you failed to turn up for yourself. Isn't that the sweetest? What great miracles have unfolded in your life? You should never forget how blessed you are. It may seem difficult to know whether you are in fact, capable of having the necessary gratitude to help propel you into the next phase of your life. You can never really tell what to believe until you recognise it standing plain in front of you.
I've cried many rivers
I've walked through some pain
I've seen my world crumble
And I'll carry the shame
But I know somebody, He calls me His own
I can hear heaven singing out
Oh-oh-oh, you're never alone
Oh-oh-oh, you're never alone
Everyone has pain. Everyone has problems and issues. When other people are going through tough times, it will be difficult to be a real friend, a true listener and an even more genuine believer that you are a good source of support. When people offer to walk through the pain with you, of course you would act with some precaution, hesitate rightly with caution. People think they can handle what you're going through, so you test them with little morsels of truth, acting like some kamikaze Hansel and Gretel laying down some crumbs and seeing if people are diligent enough to pick up the pieces to stay on your path. When nobody on earth is able to give you the source of support you need, you need to look within, and then look up. The greatest moments of love for me have always been experienced through who He sends to comfort me.
Everybody wants to be king
We put all our hope inside material things
In Your light I now understand
That everything I have ain't everything that I am
Material things fade over time. You soon learn that experiences and times spent with people are worth far more than any worldly or earthly possessions. You can build castles and collect material wealth to show how much you have, but what really will you have gained? Put your hopes inside yourself. Think carefully about what your next steps are and where you need to move in order to fulfill the destiny you were born to serve. It's easier said than done of course, but we all know those good things are worth investing in when you know that you have been blessed with gifts that only God can give. Can you really understand what you see in His light? You should be able to feel it if you can't see it.
Oh but sometimes I feel like I'm not good enough
But that's when love says You're mine, oh no
This world is geared toward making you feel like you are not good enough. We worry too much about what other people think of us, our reputations, our public standing - when in actual fact, none of that is actually very important. And this is because doing the right thing for the right reasons will always far outweigh any other things that people think you should be feeling and doing. If you keep track of how many critics you had, how could you possibly function throughout the day? You would not be able to do anything that you truly believed would honour Him because you were too worried about being judged by more vocal critics who have no qualms about holding back (and never do!).
Oh, I may have took some time
But now I realise
My imperfections were a part of Your plan
And if all things work together in the end
The broken will be beautiful
What have you learned from your situation? If you keep repeating the same mistakes, then you have not learned what you should focus on. If we were meant to be perfect, we would never understand what perfection is like because we need to fall short. Admitting when we are wrong, admitting when we have made mistakes is the first step to going down a path that will lead you sooner to your destiny. You really do need to take some time, to make sure that you are making the right decisions that are part of His plan. There is no other way of knowing for sure, other than committing it all to prayer and really thinking about what needs to happen.
There's not a hole too deep
That God's love is not deeper still
You've come too far to give up now
Let's go!
I hope that when you are faced with challenges that seem insurmountable, you remember just how far you have come. There is no greater defeat than that of your own fears, to be able to conquer them by fulfilling the promise that was made at your birth. We don't know what they are until we achieve them. Just when I thought that the hole was too deep, it was never too deep to be pulled out of, time and time again. The minute, the very second that you lose faith, you will know that Satan can prey on your inability to believe in yourself. Remember some key phrases to help set you back on the right path for your journey. Each achievement that you attain, is another stepping stone to keep you moving toward your ultimate life goals. It is when you think you are alone, that you aren't. That's something I need to keep reminding myself as I race towards my own end goals (and there are so many at this early stage of the year!). All I can keep telling myself is you've come too far to give up now, let's go!. . . .
